22nd May 1999 At Video Cafe no7 Massive Videos managed the video projections for the grand re-opening of Emslie Horniman's Park in Kensal Road W10, showing a selection of animation and feelgood films for kids from the Portobello Film & Video Festival and projecting at night on two giant screens a live mix of images masterminded by film fest VJ Convention co-ordinator, Phil Smith. Working with Blue Note/Scala/Metalhedz VJ Phil Smith (aka Jack Sh*t) on two 35 foot screens, Massive Videos presented a mix of Trellick Tower, Westway and Carnival footage with blue screen work by Acava with kids done on the day in a multimedia tent and Kurdish landscape film suppled by the live band, Regah. The evening climaxed with a spectacular drum and firework show from Paul Burwell, ex Bow Gamelan Ensemble. |
