EMSLIE HORNIMAN'S PARK, Kensal Road, W10

At Video Cafe no7 Massive Videos managed the video projections for the grand re-opening of Emslie Horniman's Park in Kensal Road W10, showing a selection of animation and feelgood films for kids from the Portobello Film & Video Festival and projecting at night on two giant screens a live mix of images masterminded by film fest VJ Convention co-ordinator, Phil Smith.

Working with Blue Note/Scala/Metalhedz VJ Phil Smith (aka Jack Sh*t) on two 35 foot screens, Massive Videos presented a mix of Trellick Tower, Westway and Carnival footage with blue screen work by Acava with kids done on the day in a multimedia tent and Kurdish landscape film suppled by the live band, Regah.

The evening climaxed with a spectacular drum and firework show from Paul Burwell, ex Bow Gamelan Ensemble.

At Video Cafe no8 we presented An Evening With Portobello Pirate TV featuring underground documentaries on the Mutoid Waste Co, Spiral Tribe, R.D.Laing and World Domination Enterprises made between 1984 and 1993.

Hotsy Girl Keith Dobson (20 mins).
A gang of aliens plan a bank robbery but a young runaway steals their getaway car.

Third World UK Jonathan Barnett (60 mins).
History of Alternative Society 1983-1993, from Stonehenge to the Criminal Justice Bill via the Battle Of The Beanfield and the Poll Tax Riots.

Apocalypse Motel Joe Rush (15 mins).
The Mutoid Waste Company performing at the Reichstag with tanks, MIGs and fireworks. Swords into ploughshears by the Berlin Wall.

The Politics Of The Imagination Jonathan Barnett (20 mins).
R.D.Laimg on Iona speaking about Mind, Body and Spirit within the Christian tradition.

Confessions Of A Bored Housewife Astrid Smith
(40 mins). Performance poets Jock Scott, Steven Wells and other West London stalwarts.
