Creative
censorship can be bypassed by DIY filmmaking.
The new revolution in Digital Technology means that technically respectable
movie making is now available to anyone. Where once editing would cost
you up to £500 an hour, you can now buy an iMac with editing capabilities
for around £1000, although I would advise bumping up the memory.
You can buy a digital video camera now for around £700 which will
download onto the computer for editing and effects.
And you can do anything. There are no rules. Narrative does not have to
be linear, the morality can be your own, mix mediums, show the world you
know, speak your own language on digital technology.
