PANI; WOMEN, DRUGS AND KATHMANDU RAÚL GALLEGO 87 minutes 18
Despite the fact that female drug addiction is an extremely taboo subject in Nepal, six brave women openly reveal their struggles to overcome addiction as they face the challenges of life as an outcast in Kathmandu; poverty, drug dealers, surviving as sex workers, corrupt police officers and discrimination. Rejected by society, they rely on themselves, helping each other in order to survive. Some women manage to undertake the difficult journey of rehab while others stay behind, unable to escape the misery of addiction. With its unique and rare perspective, the film creates empathy, understanding and compassion for women suffering from drug addiction in Nepal. Documentary Thailand & Spain
